Finance Options API

Returns one expiry's chain as a flat list: calls and puts together, split by type, with strike, bid, ask, open interest and implied volatility.

GET /v1/finance/options

Last updated November 2026Maintained by the SocialCrawl team

When to use the Finance Options API

Use it to scan a chain without walking two arrays. OPRA data is roughly 15 minutes delayed, so do not trade off it.

From the API reference

Returns one expiry's option chain as a flat unified OptionContractList: calls and puts in a single list distinguished by type, each with strike, bid, ask, last price, volume, open interest, implied volatility and an in-the-money flag. Flattening is deliberate, so filtering by type works exactly like filtering by strike instead of walking two differently-shaped arrays. Options quotes are OPRA data and are delayed by roughly 15 minutes; this endpoint is not suitable for execution decisions.

Finance API

What can you do with the Options API?

The Options endpoint gives you structured Finance data with computed fields in a single request. No scraping infrastructure to build or maintain.

Example Request

# GET /v1/finance/options: 5 credits per call. Cache hits are free and failed calls are refunded.
# Check the price first for 0 credits: add dry_run=1 to the query. Nothing is fetched or charged.
# --max-time 60: the API's own time limit for this endpoint.
# --retry 3: retries timeouts, 429 and 5xx, honoring Retry-After.
# -o response.json keeps only the final attempt's body.
# One Idempotency-Key per request, reused on every retry, so a retried call is never charged twice.

Contact us
What does the Finance Options API return?
Returns one expiry's chain as a flat list: calls and puts together, split by type, with strike, bid, ask, open interest and implied volatility. The response uses the same JSON envelope as every SocialCrawl endpoint, with the data, credits_used and request_id fields.
When should I use the Finance Options endpoint?
Use it to scan a chain without walking two arrays. OPRA data is roughly 15 minutes delayed, so do not trade off it.
How much does the Finance Options API cost?
Each call costs 5 credits, so the 100 free credits every new account gets cover 20 calls. Credits for failed or empty calls are refunded automatically, and there is no subscription.
What parameters does the Finance Options API need?
The one required parameter is keyword (underlying ticker). It also accepts 1 optional parameter, listed on this page.
How do I call the Finance Options API?
Send a GET request to https://www.socialcrawl.dev/v1/finance/options?keyword=AAPL with your API key in the x-api-key header. An Authorization: Bearer header works too.
