Finance Markets API
Returns a snapshot of the major world indices grouped by region, plus the day's most active stocks, biggest gainers, and biggest losers.
GET /v1/finance/marketsLast updated November 2026Maintained by the SocialCrawl team
When to use the Finance Markets API
Use it for a standing market overview; unlike quote and ticker-search it needs no symbol or search term.
From the API reference
Returns a unified QuoteList snapshot of the global markets overview: the major regional indices (US / Europe / Asia, tagged in quote.ext.section) plus the day's most-active, gainers, and losers movers. Each row is the same canonical Quote shape used everywhere: re-feed any id into /v1/finance/quote for the full detail. A standing overview (no input required); the regional grouping is baked into the single response. Read live from the Google Finance SERP (~4-8s).

What can you do with the Markets API?
The Markets endpoint gives you structured Finance data with computed fields in a single request. No scraping infrastructure to build or maintain.
Example Request
# GET /v1/finance/markets: 1 credit per call. Cache hits are free and failed calls are refunded.
# Check the price first for 0 credits: add dry_run=1 to the query. Nothing is fetched or charged.
# --max-time 40: this endpoint's measured p99 latency x 1.5.
# --retry 3: retries timeouts, 429 and 5xx, honoring Retry-After.
# -o response.json keeps only the final attempt's body.
# One Idempotency-Key per request, reused on every retry, so a retried call is never charged twice.
