GET/v1/twitter/profile

Twitter username without the @ symbol

When to use the X Profile API

Use it when you have a handle and want a quick account snapshot before pulling its tweets.

From the API reference

Returns public profile information for a Twitter/X user including follower count, following count, tweet count, bio, profile image URL, verification status, account privacy flag, and join date. The banner image is author.ext.cover_url and the website from the bio is author.ext.bio_link, resolved to its destination rather than the t.co shortener. author.url is the profile permalink; X publishes no total-likes-received figure, so author.likes_count is always null.

X API

What can you do with the Profile API?

The Profile endpoint gives you structured X data with computed fields in a single request. No scraping infrastructure to build or maintain.

Example Request

# GET /v1/twitter/profile: 1 credit per call. Cache hits are free and failed calls are refunded.
# Check the price first for 0 credits: add dry_run=1 to the query. Nothing is fetched or charged.

# --retry 3: retries timeouts, 429 and 5xx, honoring Retry-After.
# -o response.json keeps only the final attempt's body.
# One Idempotency-Key per request, reused on every retry, so a retried call is never charged twice.

Contact us
How do I get Twitter profile data with an API?
Send a GET request to /v1/twitter/profile with the handle parameter (no @ symbol). SocialCrawl returns structured JSON with follower count, following count, tweet count, bio, avatar URL, banner URL, bio website, and verification status.
What fields does GET /v1/twitter/profile return?
The response includes handle, display name, bio description, follower count, following count, tweet count, avatar URL, banner URL, the website from the bio resolved past the t.co shortener, verification status (blue check), the account privacy flag, and the account creation date.
Can I scrape Twitter profiles without OAuth?
Yes. SocialCrawl does not require an X Developer account, OAuth token, or a $200/month X API Basic tier. Pass the handle and your x-api-key. The endpoint returns public profile data for any visible X account directly.
How much does the Twitter Profile API cost?
Each request costs 1 credit on the standard tier. New accounts get 100 free credits with no credit card required, enough to pull around 100 Twitter profiles before you pay anything. No minimum monthly commitment.
Does the API work for X (formerly Twitter) handles?
Yes. The endpoint works for every public handle across both x.com and twitter.com. Pass the handle without the @ symbol (for example, elonmusk not @elonmusk) and you'll get the current profile state.
