GET /v1/linkedin/profile/top-position

Last updated November 2026Maintained by the SocialCrawl team

When to use the LinkedIn Profile Top Position API

Use it to find where a member works now. company returns the same company in the canonical schema; profile/experiences has titles and dates.

From the API reference

Returns the LinkedIn company page of the member's current top position (the employer LinkedIn shows first on the profile), not the role itself: no job title or dates. The raw company record carries id (the numeric company id), name, universalName, linkedinUrl, tagline, description, type, website, staffCount, staffCountRange, followerCount, industries, specialities, headquarter, locations, logos, founded and pageVerification. For the same company as a canonical Author, call /v1/linkedin/company with that linkedinUrl; for the member's roles, titles and dates, use /v1/linkedin/profile/experiences.

# --retry 3: retries timeouts, 429 and 5xx, honoring Retry-After.
# -o response.json keeps only the final attempt's body.
