GET /v1/linkedin/company/by-domainLast updated November 2026Maintained by the SocialCrawl team
When to use the LinkedIn Company By Domain API
Use it when you have a company website rather than a LinkedIn page URL. company looks up the same record from a page URL.
From the API reference
Returns the LinkedIn company page that owns a public website domain, as the same canonical Author /v1/linkedin/company returns from a page URL: author.id (the numeric company_id the other /company/* endpoints take), username, display_name, bio, avatar_url, followers, location, verified, and the About tab in author.ext (website, employee_count, headquarters, locations[], industries[], specialities[]). Pass microsoft.com or https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/: the host is extracted before the lookup. A page is returned only when its own website is the domain you passed (a subdomain such as careers.fedex.com counts), so a company with a similar name is never returned in its place. A domain with no LinkedIn company page answers 404 RESOURCE_NOT_FOUND with your credits refunded; for those, try /v1/linkedin/search/companies with the company name. A 502 or 504 is a transient upstream failure, also refunded, and is worth one retry. author.ext.cover_url can be null on this endpoint.

Example Request
# GET /v1/linkedin/company/by-domain: 5 credits per call. Cache hits are free and failed calls are refunded.
# Check the price first for 0 credits: add dry_run=1 to the query. Nothing is fetched or charged.
# --max-time 60: the API's own time limit for this endpoint.
# --retry 3: retries timeouts, 429 and 5xx, honoring Retry-After.
# -o response.json keeps only the final attempt's body.
# One Idempotency-Key per request, reused on every retry, so a retried call is never charged twice.
