LinkedIn Profile Comments API

Returns the comments a LinkedIn member left on other people's posts, with the comment text, the post it sits under, and the timestamp.

GET /v1/linkedin/profile/comments

Last updated November 2026Maintained by the SocialCrawl team

When to use the LinkedIn Profile Comments API

Use it to track someone's activity in other conversations; post/comments returns the comments on one specific post.

From the API reference

Lists the comments a LinkedIn member has left on posts, newest first, as one fixed window of up to 20: each with the comment text, its time and reactions, and the post it was left on (text, media, author and engagement). When the primary source is momentarily rate-limited, a second source answers with the same comments in the same order, with the same text, dates and counts, but each image, logo and avatar list carries one size (the largest), a video's duration, aspect_ratio, stream sizes and thumbnail dimensions are null, the post author's first_name and last_name are null, and post.created_at is the post's exact time rather than an estimate from LinkedIn's relative label; data._warnings says so.

LinkedIn API

What can you do with the Profile Comments API?

The Profile Comments endpoint gives you structured LinkedIn data with computed fields in a single request. No scraping infrastructure to build or maintain.

Example Request

# GET /v1/linkedin/profile/comments: 5 credits per call. Cache hits are free and failed calls are refunded.
# Check the price first for 0 credits: add dry_run=1 to the query. Nothing is fetched or charged.
# --max-time 29: this endpoint's measured p99 latency x 1.5.
# --retry 3: retries timeouts, 429 and 5xx, honoring Retry-After.
# -o response.json keeps only the final attempt's body.
# One Idempotency-Key per request, reused on every retry, so a retried call is never charged twice.

Parameters

ParameterRequiredDescription
urlYesFull URL of the LinkedIn profile, company, or post.
urnNoThe member's opaque LinkedIn URN, as returned in `author.ext.urn` by /v1/linkedin/profile. Optional, and a pure optimisation: pass it ALONGSIDE `url` (which stays required) and this call skips the internal handle lookup, so it answers faster and consumes half the upstream rate-limit budget. Verified on the deployed API 05/09/2026. To address a member by URN alone, send the URN-form profile URL as `url`, for example https://www.linkedin.com/in/ACoAAA8BYqEBCGLg_vT_ca6mMEqkpp9nVffJ3hc: it resolves to the same member as the public address (verified 20/10/2026 on profile/posts and profile/comments) and holds only ASCII, which helps when the public address carries an emoji or other symbol.

How do I get the comments a LinkedIn member has left?
Send a GET request to /v1/linkedin/profile/comments with the member's LinkedIn profile URL in the url parameter. The response returns the comments the member left on other people's posts, each with the comment text, timestamp, and a reference to the parent post.
What fields come back for each comment?
Each entry returns the comment text, the time it was posted, and a reference to the parent post the member commented on. This traces where a person engages, not just what they publish themselves.
How many of a member's comments do I get?
The full window LinkedIn publishes, in the one call. This surface has no continuation token, so there is no second page to fetch and the endpoint rejects cursor and page rather than silently re-serving the first page.
How much does the LinkedIn Comments API cost?
Each page costs 5 credits on the advanced tier, regardless of how many comments come back. New accounts get 100 free credits with no credit card, enough for 20 pages before you upgrade.
Why pull a member's comments for social selling?
A prospect's comments are a strong engagement signal: they show which topics, people, and companies a lead actively interacts with. Use them to time outreach, find warm openings, and prioritize accounts that are already engaging in your space.
