LinkedIn Ad API

Returns one LinkedIn ad from the Ad Library: the ad copy, creative images, the advertiser's name and logo, total impressions, and start date.

GET /v1/linkedin/ad

Last updated November 2026Maintained by the SocialCrawl team

When to use the LinkedIn Ad API

Use it after ads/search, passing an ad's Ad Library URL to read that single ad in full.

From the API reference

Returns one LinkedIn Ad Library ad as a canonical Post: content.text (the ad copy), content.media_urls and thumbnail_url (the creative), author.display_name and avatar_url (the advertiser), published_at (the campaign start date) and engagement.views (total impressions, when LinkedIn publishes them). Reaction, comment and share counts are not exposed on this surface and are null, and no targeting breakdown is returned. author.username currently repeats the advertiser NAME because the source sends no advertiser slug; join on the name, not on it.

LinkedIn API

What can you do with the Ad API?

The Ad endpoint gives you structured LinkedIn data with computed fields in a single request. No scraping infrastructure to build or maintain.

Example Request

# GET /v1/linkedin/ad: 5 credits per call. Cache hits are free and failed calls are refunded.
# Check the price first for 0 credits: add dry_run=1 to the query. Nothing is fetched or charged.
# --max-time 60: the API's own time limit for this endpoint.
# --retry 3: retries timeouts, 429 and 5xx, honoring Retry-After.
# -o response.json keeps only the final attempt's body.
# One Idempotency-Key per request, reused on every retry, so a retried call is never charged twice.

Contact us
How do I fetch a specific LinkedIn ad with an API?
Send a GET request to /v1/linkedin/ad with the Ad Library URL (e.g. https://www.linkedin.com/ad/library/detail/12345) in the url parameter. The response includes ad copy, sponsor info, impressions range, and targeting details.
What does the LinkedIn Ad Library endpoint return?
Ad creative text, headline, call-to-action, destination URL, sponsor name and logo, disclaimer text, ad format (single image, video, carousel, document), impressions range, date range, and any disclosed targeting parameters (country, industry, seniority).
How much does the LinkedIn Ad Library API cost?
Each ad lookup costs 5 credits on the advanced tier. Ad Library data is richer than standard public content, which is reflected in the tier. New accounts still get 100 free credits, enough for 20 ad lookups before you need to upgrade.
Can I use this for competitor ad intelligence?
Yes, competitor ad intelligence is the primary use case. Pull ad creative and targeting from a competitor's campaigns to inform your own positioning, creative tests, and budget planning, the same way Meta's ad library is used for B2C research.
Is LinkedIn Ad Library data public?
Yes. The LinkedIn Ad Library launched in 2023 to comply with the EU Digital Services Act and is publicly accessible at linkedin.com/ad/library. SocialCrawl reads only data LinkedIn has already made public, no login or special permission required.
