TripAdvisor Hotels API
Returns TripAdvisor hotels in a destination, filtered by nightly price, hotel class, guest rating, and property type.
GET /v1/tripadvisor/hotelsLast updated November 2026Maintained by the SocialCrawl team
When to use the TripAdvisor Hotels API
Use it to build a shortlist for a city. Results carry no rating, so chain hotel for the star rating and review count.
From the API reference
Searches TripAdvisor hotels in a destination, with filters for nightly price band, hotel class, guest rating, and property type. Returns a unified PlaceList: name, category, and the url_path you pass to /v1/tripadvisor/hotel or /v1/tripadvisor/reviews. Note this lane returns no star rating and no review count per result - chain /v1/tripadvisor/hotel for those, or use /v1/tripadvisor/restaurants and /v1/tripadvisor/attractions, whose results do carry ratings.

What can you do with the Hotels API?
The Hotels endpoint gives you structured TripAdvisor data with computed fields in a single request. No scraping infrastructure to build or maintain.
Example Request
# GET /v1/tripadvisor/hotels: 1 credit per call. Cache hits are free and failed calls are refunded.
# Check the price first for 0 credits: add dry_run=1 to the query. Nothing is fetched or charged.
# --max-time 60: the API's own time limit for this endpoint.
# --retry 3: retries timeouts, 429 and 5xx, honoring Retry-After.
# -o response.json keeps only the final attempt's body.
# One Idempotency-Key per request, reused on every retry, so a retried call is never charged twice.
