Facebook Search Mentions API
Returns public Facebook posts by other people and pages that name a page, @mention it or link it, newest first, without the page's own posts.
GET /v1/facebook/search/mentionsLast updated November 2026Maintained by the SocialCrawl team
When to use the Facebook Search Mentions API
Use it to track mentions of a brand page on Facebook; name sets the name people write when it differs from the username, since/until bound the dates.
From the API reference
Returns public Facebook posts by other people and pages that mention a page. Facebook links a mention by the page's name, not an @handle, so the search is the page's name on /v1/facebook/search/posts, newest first (name, which defaults to handle), and each row is kept only when its text names the page (the whole word, any case), @mentions the handle, or links the page. The page's own posts are left out unless include_self=true. Each row in data.items is exactly the row the named search endpoint returns, with its post and computed blocks, plus match_kind (mention or link). since and until are sent as the search's start_date and end_date. Send data.next_cursor back as cursor for the next page; it is null when every search has run out. data.legs reports each search: its endpoint, status, rows returned and kept, credits and request_id. data.excluded counts the rows left out (unmatched, self, duplicate, outside_window). Each page is one /v1/facebook/search/posts page, 1 credit.

What can you do with the Search Mentions API?
The Search Mentions endpoint gives you structured Facebook data with computed fields in a single request. No scraping infrastructure to build or maintain.
Example Request
# GET /v1/facebook/search/mentions: Free: 0 credits per call.
# --max-time 25: this endpoint's measured p99 latency x 1.5.
# --retry 3: retries timeouts, 429 and 5xx, honoring Retry-After.
# -o response.json keeps only the final attempt's body.
# One Idempotency-Key per request, reused on every retry, so a retried call is never charged twice.
