Threads Profile API
Returns a Threads account's public profile: bio, the external link set in that bio, follower count, profile picture URL, and verification status.
GET /v1/threads/profileLast updated November 2026Maintained by the SocialCrawl team
When to use the Threads Profile API
Use it when you have a handle and want the account itself; user/posts returns what that account has posted.
From the API reference
Returns public profile information for a Threads user including follower count, bio, profile picture URL, verification status, and whether the account is private. author.url is the account's Threads permalink. The external website set in the bio is returned at author.ext.bio_link (null when the account has not set one). Threads does not publish a following count, a post count, a total like count or a join date on this surface, so those four leaves are always null.

What can you do with the Profile API?
The Profile endpoint gives you structured Threads data with computed fields in a single request. No scraping infrastructure to build or maintain.
Example Request
# GET /v1/threads/profile: 1 credit per call. Cache hits are free and failed calls are refunded.
# Check the price first for 0 credits: add dry_run=1 to the query. Nothing is fetched or charged.
# --max-time 15: this endpoint's measured p99 latency x 1.5.
# --retry 3: retries timeouts, 429 and 5xx, honoring Retry-After.
# -o response.json keeps only the final attempt's body.
# One Idempotency-Key per request, reused on every retry, so a retried call is never charged twice.
