Prism Video Intel API

Returns everything about one video URL: its details and stats, comments, an optional transcript, and, on TikTok and Instagram, profiles for a few of the commenters.

GET /v1/prism/video-intel

Last updated November 2026Maintained by the SocialCrawl team

When to use the Prism Video Intel API

Use it to build a full picture of a YouTube, TikTok, Rumble, or Instagram video in one call instead of chaining detail, comments, and transcript calls.

Not for only a video's details (youtube/video, tiktok/post) or only its whole comment thread (prism/comments).

From the API reference

Fans out the video detail, comments, an optional transcript (10cr, never charged when the video has none), and ≤3 commenter profiles, folding them into one unified payload. Every leg joins on the same video url. Sync by default; streams Server-Sent Events when include=transcript (the transcript leg can take 20s+). legs[] reports each fired leg's status, cost, and latency; coverage + partial_failure flag any degraded leg. Commenter profiles ship for TikTok + Instagram in v1.

Prism API

What can you do with the Video Intel API?

The Video Intel endpoint gives you structured Prism data with computed fields in a single request. No scraping infrastructure to build or maintain.

Example Request

# GET /v1/prism/video-intel: Metered: holds 15 credits per call up front and refunds what the call does not use. Cache hits are free and failed calls are refunded.
# Check the price first for 0 credits: add dry_run=1 to the query. Nothing is fetched or charged.
# --max-time 60: the API's own time limit for this endpoint.
# --retry 3: retries timeouts, 429 and 5xx, honoring Retry-After.
# -o response.json keeps only the final attempt's body.
# One Idempotency-Key per request, reused on every retry, so a retried call is never charged twice.

Parameters

ParameterRequiredDescription
urlYesAbsolute http(s) URL of a YouTube, TikTok, Rumble, or Instagram video.
commentsNoHow many top comments to fetch (0-50, default 20). `0` skips the comments leg.
includeNoCSV of optional costed legs: `transcript` (adds the dedicated transcript leg, +10cr, refunded when null) and/or `commenter_profiles` (≤3 commenter mini-profiles, TikTok/Instagram in v1).
app_demandNoOptional. 1 reads the caption first, then the comments, and returns data.app_demand: late when the caption already names an app, otherwise the count of comments that want an app they do not have, the count that name one, and that ratio. The ratio is withheld unless the comments support it. A low-confidence comment is not counted. No extra credits.
claimNoOptional sentence. When set, data.sense_check says whether the comments support it, contradict it, or say nothing. A confidence under the cut, or one high-confidence contradiction, withholds the sentence. No extra credits.

What is the SocialCrawl video intelligence API?
GET /v1/prism/video-intel is a video intelligence API that takes one video URL and returns the video's details and stats, its top comments, an optional transcript, and a sample of who is commenting, across YouTube, TikTok, Rumble, and Instagram.
Which platforms does the video API support?
YouTube, TikTok, Rumble, and Instagram. The platform is detected from the URL and every leg joins on that same link, so you pass one URL and get the full picture back in one call.
Can I get the video transcript?
Yes. Add include=transcript and the response includes the video's transcript (this flips the call to SSE, since transcription can take 20s or more). The transcript adds 10 credits, refunded automatically if it comes back empty.
How much does the video intelligence API cost?
A flat 5 credits for the video, stats, and comments; +10 credits only when you request a transcript (refunded if null). include=commenter_profiles adds the audience sample on TikTok and Instagram.
What happens if some data is missing?
Only the video-detail leg is critical. If comments, the transcript, or the commenter sample can't be fetched, those fields degrade to empty or null and the call still returns the video with whatever resolved.
