Prism Audience Language API

Returns the language mix of comments on a creator's recent posts, with the sample size, the abstain count, a 90% interval and up to three verbatim comments per language. On TikTok the follower sample sits beside it, each with its own count.

GET /v1/prism/audience-language

Last updated November 2026Maintained by the SocialCrawl team

When to use the Prism Audience Language API

Use it when you need the language of the people who comment, next to the follower sample, instead of reading the comment pages and counting by hand.

From the API reference

Pass platform (tiktok, instagram or youtube) and handle. The response is the language mix of comments on the creator's recent posts: Hangul, Kana, Thai and Han are read from the script, and Latin-script comments are classified with a closed list that includes cannot_tell. Each language is a share with n, how many were counted, how many were abstained, a 90% interval, and up to three verbatim comments. A share whose interval is wider than 0.25 has no headline number. On TikTok the follower sample from the audience call and the location field on one follower page sit beside that mix, each with its own n. The result is a language, never a country. A divergence flag is set only when both sides have at least 200 rows and the main language does not match the main follower country. posts is 1 to 5 and defaults to 5.

Prism API

What can you do with the Audience Language API?

The Audience Language endpoint gives you structured Prism data with computed fields in a single request. No scraping infrastructure to build or maintain.

Example Request

# GET /v1/prism/audience-language: Metered: holds 12 credits per call up front and refunds what the call does not use. Cache hits are free and failed calls are refunded.
# Check the price first for 0 credits: add dry_run=1 to the query. Nothing is fetched or charged.
# --max-time 60: the API's own time limit for this endpoint.
# --retry 3: retries timeouts, 429 and 5xx, honoring Retry-After.
# -o response.json keeps only the final attempt's body.
# One Idempotency-Key per request, reused on every retry, so a retried call is never charged twice.

Contact us
What does the Prism Audience Language API return?
Returns the language mix of comments on a creator's recent posts, with the sample size, the abstain count, a 90% interval and up to three verbatim comments per language. On TikTok the follower sample sits beside it, each with its own count. The response uses the same JSON envelope as every SocialCrawl endpoint, with the data, credits_used and request_id fields.
When should I use the Prism Audience Language endpoint?
Use it when you need the language of the people who comment, next to the follower sample, instead of reading the comment pages and counting by hand.
How much does the Prism Audience Language API cost?
The price depends on the request, from 2 to 26 credits per call. Every new account gets 100 free credits. Credits for failed or empty calls are refunded automatically, and there is no subscription.
What parameters does the Prism Audience Language API need?
The required parameters are platform (tiktok, instagram or youtube), handle (creator handle, with or without @). It also accepts 1 optional parameter, listed on this page.
How do I call the Prism Audience Language API?
Send a GET request to https://www.socialcrawl.dev/v1/prism/audience-language?platform=tiktok&handle=charlidamelio with your API key in the x-api-key header. An Authorization: Bearer header works too.
