Instagram Profile Country API

Returns the country an Instagram account declares on its "About this account" panel and the month it joined, looked up by the numeric account id.

GET /v1/instagram/profile/country

Last updated November 2026Maintained by the SocialCrawl team

When to use the Instagram Profile Country API

Use it to check where the creators on a search page are based, 1 credit each, by passing post.ext.author_id; for a username, use profile/about.

From the API reference

Returns the country an Instagram account declares on its "About this account" panel (author.ext.country, an ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code, with the English name in author.ext.country_name), the month it joined (author.ext.account_created), its username, its profile link and its verified flag, for 1 credit. Pass the numeric account id as user_id: every Instagram search row carries it as post.ext.author_id, and /v1/instagram/profile/about returns it as author.id. Country is the account's own declared country, not where a post was filmed and not the country you are calling from, and it is null when the account shows no transparency panel. This endpoint reads the panel only, so followers, bio, avatar, posts count and the public email and phone are not on it; for those, call /v1/instagram/profile/about with the username. A username is refused at no charge with a pointer to /v1/instagram/profile/about. Only one source serves this read, so there is no second source to fall back to when it is unavailable.

What can you do with the Profile Country API?

The Profile Country endpoint gives you structured Instagram data with computed fields in a single request. No scraping infrastructure to build or maintain.
