Facebook Search Hashtag API

Returns public Facebook posts and videos that carry one exact hashtag, from video search and recent post search merged newest first, each row checked.

GET /v1/facebook/search/hashtag

Last updated November 2026Maintained by the SocialCrawl team

When to use the Facebook Search Hashtag API

Use it to track a hashtag on Facebook, where post search alone mostly matches the bare word; since/until bound the dates and the cursor pages both searches.

From the API reference

Returns public Facebook posts and videos that carry one hashtag. Facebook's video search matches a hashtag and its post search mostly matches the word, so each call runs both, /v1/facebook/search/videos for #tag and /v1/facebook/search/posts for #tag ranked by recency, and keeps only the rows whose text carries the exact hashtag (#tractor leaves out #tractorlife and the bare word). Rows are merged newest first, undated rows last, and a post found by both searches appears once. Each row in data.items is exactly the row the named search endpoint returns, with its post and computed blocks, plus match_kind (hashtag). Video rows carry what /v1/facebook/search/videos carries, so on a call without dates their counts and publish time are null. since and until are sent as each search's start_date and end_date, and because Facebook's video card carries no date, a call with either one also looks up each video's details (include=details): every video then carries its publish time and counts, a video outside the window is left out, and one that still could not be dated is left out and counted in data.excluded.undated. Send data.next_cursor back as cursor for the next page; it is null when every search has run out. data.legs reports each search: its endpoint, status, rows returned and kept, credits and request_id. data.excluded counts the rows left out (unmatched, self, duplicate, outside_window). Each call is one page of each search, 1 credit each, so at most 2; with since or until the video page also bills 1 credit per video looked up (7 a page), so at most 9.

What can you do with the Search Hashtag API?

The Search Hashtag endpoint gives you structured Facebook data with computed fields in a single request. No scraping infrastructure to build or maintain.

Contact us
What does the Facebook Search Hashtag API return?
Returns public Facebook posts and videos that carry one exact hashtag, from video search and recent post search merged newest first, each row checked. The response uses the same JSON envelope as every SocialCrawl endpoint, with the data, credits_used and request_id fields.
When should I use the Facebook Search Hashtag endpoint?
Use it to track a hashtag on Facebook, where post search alone mostly matches the bare word; since/until bound the dates and the cursor pages both searches.
How much does the Facebook Search Hashtag API cost?
The price depends on the request, from 0 to 9 credits per call. Every new account gets 100 free credits. Credits for failed or empty calls are refunded automatically, and there is no subscription.
What parameters does the Facebook Search Hashtag API need?
The one required parameter is hashtag (one hashtag, with or without the #: letters, digits and _, no spaces). It also accepts 3 optional parameters, all listed on this page.
How do I call the Facebook Search Hashtag API?
Send a GET request to https://www.socialcrawl.dev/v1/facebook/search/hashtag?hashtag=tractor with your API key in the x-api-key header. An Authorization: Bearer header works too.
